SmartTrade System Requirements

SmartTrade is a scalable system that can be used by businesses of any size. 

The prescribed environment basically depends on how many people are using SmartTrade i.e. a one man band only requires the minimum – A PC/Laptop with 3GB RAM and anything greater than Windows Home edition. 

The SmartTrade Prescribed Environment (below) is a guideline, if you have any questions please contact the SmartTrade technical support team on our freecall number or email support@smarttrade.biz :

Database (Server or Similar Machine):
  • Pentium 4 or above
  • 4 GB RAM
  • Operating System –
    Windows Server 2008 or 2003 (for server) or Windows (edition greater than Home)*
  • SQL Express or Full SQL Server (recommended if more than 10 concurrent users in networked office environment)
Desktop Workstations (local):
  • 2 GB RAM
  • Operating System –
    Windows (edition greater than Home)*
  • Screen Resolution – 1024x768, 32 bit colour
Remote Desktop (Laptop, Netbook etc logging in remotely):
  • Operating System – Desktop:
    Windows (edition greater than Home)*
  • Operating System – Server Machine:
    Windows (edition greater than Home)* with XP Unlimited  or 
    Windows Server 2008 or 2003 with Terminal Services
  • Where Terminal Services or XP Unlimited is used, consideration needs to be taken for amount of users that will be accessing SmartTrade. Hardware requirements will scale for more users.
  • Screen Resolution – 1024x768, 32 bit colour
Mobile Devices (Pocket PC, PDA):
  • Operating System –
    Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 (Not Windows Phone 7)
  • Touch Screen capability
  • Screen Resolution – 480x 800 (the bigger the screen the better!)
Connectivity Local (cradle, IR, Bluetooth):
  • Internet Information Server (IIS) v6 or above
  • ActiveSync 4.5
Connectivity Wireless:
  • Broadband internet connection (ADSL)
  • Fixed IP Address
  • Wireless data plan (500MB per month per device recommended)
* Please Note:  Windows Home Edition is not supported!!

SmartTrade Internet Job Logging:
  • IIS 6 or above
  • Dot Net Framework 4.0 is required for the API Service to run. 
  • A Static IP address is required for access to the Server where Internet Job Logging is installed.
  • The website will need to be published to be able to access on the internet.
